Telavox is working hard to create an inclusive workplace. Now, our hard work is getting recognized. Our Chief Marketing Officer, Vanessa Meyer, is going to speak at Microsoft TechDays in October!
It’s not every day that one of the world’s biggest computer companies wants your CMO to speak at their conference. We’re thrilled to announce that Vanessa Meyer will take part in the panel discussion “Inclusive workplaces – a room for all” on the 24th of October. The discussion will focus on equality, biases, gender, and sexuality in the workplace.
Here’s what Vanessa has to say about working with equality and inclusivity:
“From my particular perspective as a female tech marketer (having worked ten years in commercializing technology), it all comes down to branding. We focus a lot on the engineering departments because of the obvious imbalances there.”
“I think we as an industry have made great strides in improving the image of a ‘developer’ to be more inclusive. From a nerdy (mostly male) person in a hoodie who is afraid of social contact to a unique individual who likes to build solutions with 1s and 0s. There is a similar gendered image for sales, account management, and marketing. We need to do the same in the commercial parts of technology organizations.”
We’re so excited for Vanessa!

Inclusivity at Telavox
We’re not there yet, but we’re taking steps to make Telavox a wholly inclusive and equal company. We have made a conscious decision to have women lead events such as programming workshops and network meetings for start-ups.
We believe that an equal and diverse workplace will be more successful, fun, and a better place to be at, for everyone.
For example, we have increased our Employee Net Promoter Score for women with 267% since 2017 (we went from 12 to 44, and the Swedish benchmark is 2). When recruiting, we always strive to have both a man and a woman as the final candidates.
We believe that an equal and diverse workplace will be more successful, fun, and a better place to be at, for everyone.
